Research
ICAM conducts cutting-edge research across four core environmental science domains, combining field studies, laboratory analysis and computational modelling.
Research Areas
- Environmental Monitoring — Continuous measurement of air, water and soil quality using sensor networks and remote sensing.
- Pollution & Remediation — Investigation of pollutant sources, transport pathways and novel clean-up technologies.
- Ecosystem Dynamics — Long-term studies of biodiversity, habitat change and ecological resilience.
- Climate & Atmospheric Science — Analysis of greenhouse gas fluxes, extreme weather events and regional climate projections.
Research Projects
The ROCS project, officially titled “Expansion of the National Infrastructure Participating in the European Collaborative Ground Segment (COLGS-RO),” is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing Romania’s geospatial capabilities. Our mission is twofold: 1. Expand Romania’s Copernicus Ground Segment infrastructure 2. Establish a strategic foundation for the country’s geospatial sector
